BMS oil cooler?

We have had some super hot weather out west recently and my car has been running very cool.. 190-210 F versus the typical 250-265 F on a normal 60-70 degree F day. What I wasn't expecting is how much more powerful my car feels in this hot weather when the oil temps dip below 210-ish. I've always complained about the inconsistency of my 435i MPPK's performance, sometimes it feels fast and sometimes slow-ish, but when the oil temp is low, it is consistently very quick. Has anyone else experienced this? and more importantly is anyone using the BMS oil cooler and noticed an improvement in performance? Also, any downsides to running the BMS oil cooler?

Thanks

I would pass on it myself, it doesn't work on the track. On the street it does work but it takes too long to get your car to optimal temperatures. A simple thermostat bypass like this isn't really best solution.

ER is close to releasing their upgraded oil cooler for the f-series. The Bms bypass valve doesn't add any extra cooling capacity as it just removes the thermostat.

Nonsense. I took my BMW to Laguna last week and oil hovered right around 220 every single session. Compare that to 235-250 during daily-driving on an average day without the BMS oil cooler valve. But, yeah...it takes the car 10 minutes to fully warm up instead of 5. That's definitely a huge drawback.

Glad it worked out for you. But it wasn't the case for me and other n55 or n54, temperatures kept creeping up and up making no difference at all. Maybe we drive too hard? lol

I've been driving in 90+-degree weather and the oil temp stays consistently below 250F. The aux cooler on the MSport might have something to do with that, but even in traffic I've not seen it edge past 250.
