I've never been on a track before, is this a good choice for a first timer?

The corkscrew says otherwise....

As for the 92dB factor, any idea how our F8x's come in, both stock and with catless dps?

Personally, I think it matters more how the track day is run, who the instructors are, and what the other drivers' attitudes are rather than the specific track

Would be a good idea to ask the OP about the background of the instructors, and the format for the instruction, the types of people who go (particularly if most cars are stock street tires or race prepped, and if there is a time attack or timing element)

For what it's worth, I think the best days for a day 1 novice in norcal based on my own experience are BMWCCA or NASA norcal, or hooked on driving at thunderhill on a week day. Also, I am learning to be skeptical of track day clubs that offer transponder rentals to novice group....

What are the rules on track?

Point bys needed in some groups?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Sorry about the late reply, I'm in Europe right now and just did a track day at the Nurburgring

We are going to have 3 groups. A group will be open passing. B group will be open passing and point-by. C group will be point-by only. We will have instructors for the point by group and we are also offering private instructing all day for an extra fee.

I did a track day at Laguna in my F80 and I passed sound on a 90db day no problem.

Please let me know if I missed anyone's questions.

I'm confused what the B group is. Is it point by anywhere or is it open passing?
