Heading to the track this weekend

So a decent day is coming up on Saturday, and I'm finally going to install my JB4 since I was missing the T50 Torx bit, and 2 positaps to finish install.

What would be a good 1/4 time with my setup? Any ideas based on your experience?

-XDrive
-HFC Downpipe
-Michelin PSS
-Sports Transmission
-Map 1 JB4 (maybe Map 2)

I'll post slips on Sunday

How about map 5? Where is the drag strip at? Density altitude? Since your xdrive 60 ft should be great and under 2 seconds.

I'll guess 12.85 @ 106

You can do that with just ppk IMO. I predict 12.65@108

My bad, JB4 stage 1 is not aggressive as I thought. I think 12.85@106 is spot on

The drag strip has so many variables it's hard to guess. Driver experience, auto/manual, density altitude, rwd/xdrive, weight, type of gas. My first run ever in a low 14 second car, I ran a 15.6. Eventually got to the low 14's

I msged Mike, and I can run Map 2 with my setup.... so I'll set it to Map 2.

I'd like to get into the high-mid 12's... that would be awesome.

That would take me back to my first estimate 12.65@108. All these estimates are on the conservative end though, I am just managing my risk of being over ambitious. I think you will do better than that

Last time I went I had a really good reaction time. I usually go when it's orange, so I react to green....

I wonder how many launches an xDrive can do before the drivetrain is toast...

Came in here expecting a thread about a track, corners, and driving.

Instead it's just about holding the wheel straight and flooring it.

FYI, drag racing is done on a STRIP, not a track.

Done 7 with mine so far. LOL

Audi limits theirs at 100 with a cap in the computer, but rumor has it there is a way to reset it. Haven't seen anything discussing BMWs handling of it, but then I find little use in LC outside of testing purposes.

Or were you implying that the Xdrive drivetrain is somehow weaker than the RWD?

The Audi uses an actual dual clutch with an actual clutch engagement at a high rpm while the BMW is really just brake boosting.

Friend ran 12.7 on turned up boost in Stage 1 and just catless DP in a 14 xdrive 335i. He hit 108 I think? So all your estimates are pretty in line.

But that is not exclusive to the Xdrive, RWDs have the same transmission. LOL

Why would an X-Drive drivetrain get toasted to begin with? Isn't this the ultimate driving machine.

I dunno man, I stopped trying to analyze random comments on the internet a long time ago.

I think the idea is the weakest part always breaks. On a rwd car, thats usually the traction of the rear wheels. On a AWD car, thats often other things, transmission, driveshafts, differentials, etc. Like when I had a 4th gen camaro, once good tires were on the car, the differential always broke.
