As in " we thank you for your interest in the entry level M, but we want you to know that we have an even more expensive M product for you" ...with equally questionable "///M" characteristics, at least based upon prior M philosophy

Concept reveal on August 11 at Pebble Beach if we're lucky, then production reveal at Frankfurt on September 17.

Yeah, in a comment somewhere SCOTT26 said that nothing new will be shown in the upcoming teaser, but it is 'confirmation that it is coming'. I'll take anything at this point. lol.

The coming out dance (or "Official unveiling") for the 7 series cars is scheduled for 2015 Frankfurt. The M2, if allowed into that venue, might divert attention from the very profitable 7 car.
M2 "production reveal" in Tokyo or LA, is my guess. Which may end up being anti-climactic after Pebble Beach in August.

On the other hand, what if the other German carmakers show up with a handful of show stoppers and BMW just has the 7 series and a new Mini to show?

X1 as well. I know these aren't the M cars that we crave for, but those are pretty important cars for BMW.

Personally, I don't care about the car shows because I'm not going to get to go to them anyway. As long as the concept is shown at Pebble Beach, I'm good. The concept cars are identical to the production anyway nowadays.

Not just 7 Series, but X1 also. And possible M4 GTS display. So no room for M2. LA sounds more probable. The car will be unveiled before though, on the Internet. There is also a possibility to go to Oktoberfest BMW CCA in NJ.

Not vague. Wrong. Look at his track record with lots of rumors over the years and see how many actually turned out true. Some of the ones that did were easy to anticipate with a bit of BMW knowledge and common sense. Trust me, I followed those threads religiously only to be disappointed many times.

But anyway, that's a different story.
