My New LCI Ready For Shipping

Just had an email from the dealership telling me my chassis number and that my new car is ready for shipping now, for delivery on Sept 1st. Can't wait, has anyone else got an LCI version yet?

How do you track the cars progress with the VIN Decoder?

Is it a case of cross referencing the chassis number with a list of build dates published by BMW?

I've got an F31 330xd LCI on order but I have gone for Individual Options which I am guessing will push back the build date by a few weeks....

Dan.

If you type in your last 7 digits of your chassis number into the vin decoder it will tell you your cars info if its gone into build

That also makes it easier to spot on the vin decoder

To be honest anyone could go into the decoder and pick off any random chassis number and see if it had connected drive anyway!

When I started getting around dealers and online brokers for quotes I rang Broadspeed because I didn't understand their discounting system on options and before I'd even got started the geezer point blank told me that I wouldn't get an LCI this side of Christmas (this was in mid-June). Oddly enough my local dealer had told me the day before that it was the standard three months from order to delivery.

I appreciate that's probably got bugger all to do with anything but it's a cool story, bro.

I'm impressed, I'd be quite pleased if mine was done in six weeks! I ordered in late June and finally added my last option last week. Dealer told me that I should be safe to make changes in July but it would probably be locked in August to go into production in week 37 (7 Sep) and in the UK two weeks later so ultimately late-Sep. Don't really mind so much but the wait is killing me and the car will arrive after I've taken some leave so to get it beforehand would be useful!

Out of interest what timeframe were you originally given?

This will be my second F30 335d, last one was a company car, lost it in April when I moved jobs. I could not fault the car, great for long journeys and plenty of power too. Great all rounder!

On your order form what was the original estimated delivery date?
Mine got ordered June 29th and it says August 10th estimated delivery. Doesn't have chassis number or vin on it tho

They are really turning them round quick, although not an LCI model, I ordered my 328i on June 3rd and collected it on June 30th and that was a factory build.

My last one took 12 weeks for delivery from order date, that was March 2014. Never thought it would be ordered and built within a Month. You have just missed out on an LCI then?
