Tire Advice: E93 Convertible with 19s

Hi All,

I'm taking off my runflat tires on my 335i vert with style 199 19" wheels. I really like the wheels and am sticking with 19s, but am looking for much better ride quality and tire wear. In order of priority, here's what I am looking for:

1) ride quality
2) low noise
3) long life
4) performance
5) all season

I don't track this car or even drive it that hard, so I'm really looking for best daily driver attributes. I mostly do city driving with some occasional long drives in weekend vacations.

On @tirerack I'm looking at dunlop direzzas and hankook v12s. Anyone have a recommendation between these two or some better choices? Super sports are out of my budget range. Yes, I know smaller wheels will rise better, but I'm sticking with 19s for now.

Also, I'm considering going up from the stock widths of 225 front 255 rear to 235/265 as the choices seem better/cheaper. Any issues? I'm running 12mm spacers on stock suspect nsion.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I just replace the run flats on my 2011 335 with the 19" wheels. I chose the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3. Had to go to 255/35 in the rear and kept stock in the front with no issues. Could have gone wider in rear and front but decided to keep as close to stock as possible. The car had the Pirelli RFT on it and is now much more quiet and has a smoother ride. The only downside is possibly a little less crisp on turn in when driving aggressively, but not enough to cause concern. The upsides of the ride quality and 45k mile tread wear warranty far outweigh the slightly slower turn in.

I second the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3. Super quiet, a little taller sidewall than the stock RFT's in the same sizes. I'm not running 19" wheels, I have stock 189's, but they are a great all around tire for the money. As the previous poster said, they aren't as crisp on turn in, but that is to be expected. I will definitely consider another set of these in the future.

Thanks Jeff. so 19" Non-RFTs are riding better for you than the 18" RFTs?

Yes - But I have always had 19's on this car. The AS3's definitely ride better then the RFTs.
I did have 18" RFT on both my previous 335 and 135 and swapped to AS2 on the 335 and Pilot SS on the 135 and both had much better ride.

I went ahead and ordered Direzza 102s in 235/265 on Tire Rack since they have good feedback for ride and noise. Will report back if anyone is interested.
