BMW Driving Experience Nurburgring

Does anyone have any experience with the BMW driving experience at the Nurburgring?

Has anyone driven the ring or have any experience with track days or groups?

I am planning a trip to Europe in 2016 and would like to spend a day or two at the ring.

what exactly did you want to know? (might help for replies)
no experience driving it, but have been there, amazing roads around there. fantastic to watch.

I will drive it one day, i half live only a couple of hours away

For the Ring, I went on a tourist day (check the calendar to make sure its open when you want to go)... bought a lap ticket, drove onto the track and cruised around/ took it easy. It was a lot of fun and not a big deal to plan for a casual couple of laps

For a real track day, RSR is a good one, and I had good luck with CircuitDays for Spa.

I did it when they were running the E92M3. Great time, bucket list item checked. Two full days on the Ring doing lead/follow in groups of 4 cars, mostly working on segments. I would have liked to have done more full laps, but it was still well worth it, especially for a first-timer. That said, if I went back I would rent a car to do either track days and/or tourist sessions.

How are the logistics handled? Do they pick you up at the airport? Where was your hotel?

You are pretty much on your own for that. We flew in to Frankfurt and rented a car to get to Nurburg. I think most people stay at the Lindner Hotel, but it wasn't available when I went. We rented a condo nearby.

Dorint is a good one too. It is right by the entrance to the Nurburgring F1 track and close to the entrance for tourist driving
