New member, new car..

Been loitering a little and used to post on PH a fair bit and BMWLand before it closed down. Anyway, recently sold my E91 335d and boiled it down to two cars; a used C63 and a new 335d M Sport Touring and eventually went for the BMW. Ordered the car last Saturday with the following stuff:

Tanzanite Blue
Oyster Dakota leather
Advanced Parking Package
Interior Comfort Package
M Sport Plus Package with BMW Icon Adaptive LED Headlights and 442M wheels Bicolour Orbit Grey Metallic
Media Package - Professional
Adaptive M Sport suspension
Variable Sport Steering
Comfort Access
Electric Towbar
Panoramic Sunroof
Ext Folding Mirrors
Seat Heating- Front
Active Cruise Control
Surround View
Head-up display
Enhanced Bluetooth
Speed limit Display

If nothing else the manual should keep me busy for a little while..

I'll post some pictures up when I finally get the monster.

Cheers!

Nice spec not consider the Opal interior

What swayed you to the 335d from the C63, excluding tyre wear and fuel usage

Nice spec! If you're not convinced from the PH thread that you'll need to do some mods then it won't be long once you're in here!

Um, the Frau unfortunately. She just simply wasn't into to it at all, the whole C63 thing was just completely lost on her! She had a point mind, we do regular 3000 mile jaunts down to SE Europe and apart from the costs involved in doing that in a C63, it isn't the most forgiving of cars with its firm suspension so she really wasn't keen on it. I could have lived with the compromises quite easily! Interestingly though, when I got back in my old E91 it didn't feel that much slower in the mid-range. That V8 though, what's not to like about that?! Beautiful, just beautiful.

(Welcome!)

Not sure I'd would have traded for that C63 v8 sound track!

No worries the active sound design can be changed to a f10 v8 - you won't notice the difference - honest

Nice spec. I miss my old neighbours C63, when it fired up the sound was immense, can only decribe it as God clearing his throat.

Something I personally like and have fitted, maybe you could look into, are the M performance bits; splitter, diffuser & skirts, and the black kidney grills.

Three things I remember about the C63 test drive were the start up, the brutal mid-range racket and the downshift blips but I just couldn't sell them to the trout, she just wasn't having it. I miss it so much and yet never owned it - sheesh.

As for mods, we'll see! I'm a bit of purist when it comes to cars although I did have my last OEM silver alloys refurbed and repainted by my detailer to Shadow Chrome and they looked epic.

I would have got the C63 and traded the other half. You can't let the wife dictate car purchases! Mine is also car mad which is great.

I'm curious about your decision to go manual gearbox. I drove a 320d with manual box this week while mine was in for service. The manual didn't play well at all with the 2.0 diesel. Maybe the 3.0 will be a different story, but I'd have thought you really need a petrol to get the best out of a Manuel box.

I think he meant the owners manual! 335d comes with auto only.

Wait a minute... Can't believe you didn't go for the heated wheel and rear seats!

Or the individual leather interior.... Go on, even if it's just to say you've ticked absolutely EVERY option!

As I said earlier, Opal would look fab with TB. Heated wheel was one of the nicest options I've had. Would be one of the first options I would tick a new order

Haha! I asked my dealer about the leather earlier this week and he said it was lovely but some customers had said it wasn't very hard wearing so I was a bit dubious as I intend to keep the car for about 5-7 years (I kept my last one for just over five). However, my cars are detailed with Cquartz which you can also treat leather with as well so I may do yet!

Nice spec, not sure you can you add the icon adaptive LED headlights with the M Sport plus package or is it only if you order the 340i?

Yeah you can, I was quite explicit about this with my dealer and made him explain it to me in crayons so that I didn't misunderstand him! Bottom line is you spec M Sport Plus and then it gives you the option to stay with normal LEDs or Icon Adaptive - for an extra £850.
