e90 LCI Rear Tail Light Out (Any refreshed DIY out there)

My tail lights turn signals are out (I purchased some from a member, thanks m1ka for the killer deal), is there a refreshed DIY that can show me how to pry open the lights?

I presume these are just bulbs, can I use the bulbs from my old LCI lights and just swap em to the new LCI lights?

[If anyone is even wondering why I replaced my old lights: both sides had the two LED strips falling off]

Is it your halogen or LED that is out? Are you replacing the whole housing?

I already bought two OEM outter tail lights, but the right one has faded blinkers.

I presume those are the LEDs? I will clarify later, but I was wondering if it is the blinkers can I swap 'em out with my current ones?

If they are LED (which it should be for blinkers), then no you can't swap them between the light housing. Besides if you can remove the lens on both and swap out the circuit board but that is not worth the time, effort and risk if you already have good working ones.

Only the incandescent bulbs (which there are two) that can be swapped.

If you want to swap the light housing, the pull back the interior trim in the trunk and there are three screws holding them in. Just don't over tighten them.

PERFECT RESPONSE!

I bought the new lights because my two bulbs (which are two) were not parallel; One was falling downwards.

So I might as well take my old ones, take off the two bulbs and swap 'em out.

I have done the swap with the three screws, but how do I DIY the two bulbs?

See attached image. Follow the numbering and push the tabs in the direction of the arrow and the backing should pop off.

Not really worth keepibg the incandescent bulbs because they are cheap but nice to have as spares

I found out which bulbs you are talking about (the breaks, as you referenced).

I need to swap out the DRL lines in the rear. The bottom ones are falling off.

Any ideas?

I am talking about the lines that are like this (showing both headlights lines below):

Those are LED aren't they? If so you're out of luck and better off replacing the whole light housing.

I am going to attempt to open the housing unit and swap the boards? It could be a project since the lights are already out of use?

If so, where can I buy two outer tails for the cheapest?

ACTUALLY, I want the euro versions!

It will not be easy to open up. I tried and ended up cracking the lens and had to buy a new one. I was going to fix all the bad solder joints. Maybe try it with a head gun to soften it up when you try and pry it.

Got any pictures of what you're looking for?

Maybe you should look at this thread that I have been posting http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706424

Save yourself some time and just buy the generic from rockauto for 60 bucks. I did that and it's identical to OEM.

Good looking out,

I wonder where I can score the euro ones with the orange turn signals?
