10,000 mile service

This is for the the folks who have undergone the 10,000 service...I have RTFM...I would like to know what was done for your F8x and any suggestions to facilitate the process.

Thanks ahead of time for everyone's assistance.

Thanks folks. Yeah i can't believe how much i've put on this car. It's my daily driver and so far (knock on wood) no issues. I have 10000 mile service tomorrow and will ask and let you know as well.

Had 10000 mile (20000km) service today. They only did oil change. Said transmission oil was changed with 1200 mile service though i don't recall that. Will have to check the paperwork.

Thanks for the info. Maybe the CBS at 15,000 involves more. Funny, I asked if they could change the wiper blades and they said it is only done after the first year of ownership...I'm calling BS on that.

I'll report back next week after my service.

Transmission oil does not get changed with the 1,200 mile service for sure.

Only things that get changed on the 1,200 mile service are oil and differential fluids.

Think i should be asking for transmission oil to be changed at 10000miles/20000K? Driving a 6MT. Can't find any straight answers on this.

No. It does not need to be replaced at 10k miles. Also you cannot ask to have it changed. The only thing you will be getting is what comes up on the CBS key Read which will be an Oil change and possibly wipers.

I had them change mine at the 1200 mile mark. They say you don't need it, but I just like knowing the gearbox has some nice fresh oil.

Yea, he's talking about paying out of pocket. You can ask BMW to do the transmission fluid change, but you will pay for it out of pocket.

So...recently did the 10,000 mile CBS. The process amounted to an oil and filter change only. I inquired about any SIBs on the M3...none to report.

I did my 10,000 mile service last week and had the CAN terminating resistor campaign (f82 only) completed. Also I inquired about the new brake shields and they ordered the parts to be installed next week.

Any info on this? New to the forums and haven't heard of this. I've had to pull my rotors off twice to remove rocks that caught between the rotor and shield.

Have not replaced brake shields and frequency of noise has gone to "0".
