Performance BMW Chapel Hill Reviews?
Was wondering if any of you guys have dealt with Performance BMW Chapel Hill. Im looking to possibly skip out on the whole waiting with ordering and just picking up their Tanzanite Blue M4 they have in stock. If anyone could let me know their experiences with the dealership or if they have any hook ups that would be

They have 3 F8x in stock - the Tanzanite (great looking btw), An AW on the showroom floor and a Mineral Grey M4 vert outside;
Performance BMW - Service is fantastic (Patricia F.) - can't give them enough praise - always ready to help, fair prices and awesome service; Sales: i NEVER bought a car from them - they believe that everyone should pay sticker and don't haggle - this is the same for Porsche as well as BMW; Also Rick Hendrick Chevy and GMC are pretty much the same; I have bought over 10 cars since living close to the dealership and always buy my cars elsewhere - Fayetteville (Porsche), Greensboro (Porsche and BMW), Raleigh etc. Good luck on the Tanzanite - its a beauty. |

Got it - so i assume you are not local in Chapel Hill?
We (some other M3/M4 drivers) are getting together in a couple weeks in the area; if you want to join in the 911, you are more than welcome to. I had a 991 S as well - sold it due to a persistent rattle but i loved the 991 and my 997.1 and 997.2 4S |

I bought my F80 ED style from Performance. I picked them over Leith due to the dealer experience. I couldn't haggle any since it was ED. I would think there's some room since they have cars in the lot and the 2016 models have some desired changes.

Hey - welcome to the bimmerpost!
On the mods - i am not sure but will soon find out. I suggest that you hook up with Sean Brown or Patricia Fradenburg. Both are great - Sean has a modded M3 and are both service advisors. Would love to meet up -we can pull together a couple cars and meet in Durham... that will give you a nice drive up from Fayetteville |

OP- Performance is like most other car dealers. If they can they will rape you. I got a good deal on my M4 only cause I took it to them. Refused to back down and came back 3-4 times. Please turn the tables and get 7% off at least.
Went back 2 months after my M4 purchase and was going to order a 70k 535i. FYI my M4 was over 80k sticker. Done with their bull shit and had to leave the dealership literally when I was getting ready to sign paperwork. Mainly went else where cause my SA was rude and VERY unprofessional. I don't need my ego pumped or even above par treatment. But their BS and tactics are 1980's used car status. Hope you find a deal where ever you decide to buy. |

OP - I've had good experiences with them overall. Used to have a Z4 years ago and they were always great with service. I recently ordered an M3 from them but I brought them the deal. Literally worked every dealership across the state against each other until I got a deal I was happy with. They were helpful with my individual order and they've been receptive to mods but this is limited. They are willing to do any OEM aftermarket part but they wouldn't do an aftermarket hood for me. They are willing to do an aftermarket side splitter but they are hesitant to install things that could affect warranty since they are a certified BMW dealer. I did talk down the price on the m performance parts to that I found on getbmwparts.com. No dealership is perfect obviously but they are a good group IMO.

I still have my paperwork from Performance, gathering dust on a shelf in my home office. They were ridiculous on the M3 ED pricing, so I walked, sent an email to Steve Thomas BMW, and got my car for ED invoice +2k, which was about as good as you could find last year. I use Leith for service, as they have always been great with my past BMW and MB cars. Heather @Leith is the best SA I've ever worked with, she takes customer service and satisfaction very seriously.

Sales side sucks for them. They are always trying to rob you. Service is top notch. I have 3 friends who are techs there, they are top notch. They are extremely mod friendly as well. My 335i turbos replaced under warranty and I had DP, intake, chargepipe, intercooler, procede tune, and exhaust

I also had a pretty bad experience at Performance on the sales side when I was shopping for my first BMW. The CA was very rude to me and the sales manager actually came over as I was leaving and basically laughed at me (and insulted my car at the time) because I was looking for an $500-1k over invoice deal on a 1-series. Needless to say, I have not been back since then. And, it's too bad for them because they are missing out on a bunch of increasingly expensive BMW leases between my wife and I.
I ended up buying my 1-series from Leith and had a better experience. My current car was a PCD from Steve Thomas BMW. I'm not sure I will be buying any more cars locally with the performance center so close. |
