Parts breaking in winter
Hello,
For research I have to find out which car parts are needed or break most often in the winter time. It could be a part like heaters or a product like windshield washer. If anyone has an idea let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. You could already assume it is for school! I need some insight on this subject. Thank you. |

Last winter it was bumper covers. The plastic was not designed to deal with very cold temperatures, the slightest bump and they tended to crack.
If you have a recent build the cold weather shut down should be fixed. Early cars were programmed to start to shut down at less than 80% cranking power. So at -20c they were shutting down. Mine sent every night plugged in to a trickle charger, but even that was not enough. Later builds adjusted the shut down to 65% cranking power. |

I find that the windshield washer fluid reservoir seems pretty small, and with the amount it uses with the headlight washer, it really needs to be bigger, or give us the option to turn the headlight washer off.
