will they change the oil in 1 year?
For the second oil change service, will they change the oil if I don't drive to 10,000 miles in a year?
I've heard it's 10,000 miles or a year, whichever comes first but I can't find anything on this. |

Yup. I got my email notification right around my 1yr anniversary even though I only have about 6300 miles on the car. I called MY SA and he confirmed that BMW will cover it.

I did an intermediate oil change at 6500 miles and now am approaching 10,000 rapidly. I-drive indicates my 10,000 service should be done around 12,000. I think I will schedule the appointment closer to 10,000.

I have approx. 3200 miles on car. Idrive says it's due. Had 1200 mile service done 12/26/14. Yes, I know I don't drive car much, I have a company truck so my M is purely a play car. Anyway, looks like a free early oil change.

Annual oil changes actually shouldn't be covered..
Have your SA check w/ the warranty administrator at the dealership. Ask them to run the vehicle history and check the option codes. The F8x cars are on a programmed interval of "Oil Chg 10,000 mls/12 months" with option code: 08KL, therefore no annual oil changes will qualify for these vehicles. If the vehicle had an interval option code of 08KC for "Oil Chg 15,000 miles/24 months," then YES the annual oil service would qualify. Give them this info and I'm willing to bet they'll correct themselves and say sorry you're not eligible for a yearly oil service. AND if your dealership IS doing these annual oil services they're definitely not getting reimbursed by BMW NA and are eating the costs after you leave w/ your car with a fresh oil change. |

I picked up my car on 8/2014. 1200 mile service done 11/2014.
i got a notice 8 months later 7/2015 with 5300 miles on her that I need an oil service. I brought it in, they changed the oil, no questions asked. |

If it says it's DUE that's a different story. Obviously, the oil change will be done. I'm talking about when it DOES NOT show that it's due but you've surpassed the yearly mark. Ask her about "bundling" services to save the customer a trip back to the dealership within a short span of time to take care of the oil service now than later too. Test her knowledge. |

BMW will pay to change your oil every 10,000miles OR once a year whatever comes first. You shouldn't have to worry about it though as the maintenance reminder is programmed to tell you to change the oil in this fashion. (After 12 months or 10k it will pop up in dash) |
