has anyone else had this happen to them? It wasn't extremely hot but I was driving the car relatively hard but not harder than some of you guys I'm sure. I will probably just ask Apex for another set and see if they can cover me. it seems like they should hold up a little better than that. obviously lot a *serious* problem, but slightly annoying.

I lost one of the stickers last track weekend but this past time a couple center caps deformed and fell off entirely…one popped off and got run over by another driver lol. I think I'm down to one in tact center cap after two weekends...

It always a good idea to remove your center caps when at the track to keep from adding track debris. Some clubs make it mandatory to remove them

good idea .. luckily mine didn't come off (or get run over) until the car was sitting still in the paddock .. I'm guessing while it was driving it was getting air cooled... but you make a good point. I'm surprised I haven't heard of this with all the different clubs I've driven with

I would just give you mine but it looks like you have black, while mine is silver. I think the APEX center caps are ugly as hell anyways.

I have two sets. They are silver, not black. If you want a set, let me know. I suggest you do without at track events. Rotors get red hot and transfer directly to the wheel... Melty times ahead.

i appreciate the offer! on second though, i probably shouldn't use the apex caps again .. maybe i'll try some OEM center caps although maybe i'll take the advice and just skip 'em. this is the first time i've ever had this problem using several different wheel manufacturers/cars and about 20 track days over the last few years. this is the fastest car i've used and first car i've used R comps on so maybe the R comps put me over the edge? i've always been hard on brakes (not necessarily a good thing, i know) so that's why i think it's weird i'm just now having this issue.

strange, but mostly that i'm just now finding out about it.

thanks for the input guys!

Forgot to take mine out once for the track and they melted too. I've got a box full of center caps from the 4 sets of Apex I've got between the two cars. Let me know if you want one. I think I have that variety cap too.

maybe Apex's center cap is the main problem ... since they're a track-only wheel i'll probably just leave 'em out from now on. if i want to roll on them for a while i'll pop the OEM out of my stock wheels and throw those on. thanks again though! sorry i couldn't help unload some of your stash, lol.
