hey guys I'm wondering how can I play music via bluetooth directly to my 2013 bmw 238i I hate using an aux cord I recently took my car to the shop and they let me borrow a 2015 and I was available to play music directly with my iPhone 6 is there an update I could do ?? any suggestions ?

You can play directly from your iPhone via the iDrive if you EBT or the ProNav. What is your current iDrive setup?

If you actually mean that you have a 2013 328i, then the only way that you can play Bluetooth audio is if you have the enhanced Bluetooth package I think. They didn't need make a 228i in 2013, unless maybe across the pond.

Don't think BT audio was standard on all cars until 2014 model year.

Is there anyway I could upgrade to something it's pretty annoying to plug in a aux cord on a car that's 2013 while my other friends in there hondas have that feature in there 2008 models ?

Not sure. It may be able to be coded into the car, but only if there isn't a component upgrade needed. Ask your dealership. There may be some information on it in the coding section of this forum.

I do understand not wanting to plug in the phone. I use an old iPod, but for streaming I do use BT.

My old 2012 328i was ordered with the EBT function even though at the time, I had no idea what it was for. Streaming Pandora was just awesome. Now even album art shows up wirelessly when using BT audio.

I just coded EBT into my 2014 320i yesterday, and it works perfectly with my iPhone 6 Plus. My car didn't have BT audio standard, but I do have a combox, I believe that's the only way I was able to code it in without needing any extra components. If you have a combox as well, it should work for you too.
