Bluetooth / Hands free confusion.
I have done searches but this is confusing me some what.
I have no hands free and the only way i can play music from a device is via the 3.5mm jack. What I want is to be able to answer the phone from the steering wheel button and stream music as well. What is the best option? Cheers Elliot

It depends what equipment exists in your car already. Do you have phone prep? check your build sheet at BMW Archive for SA640 or SA644
I dont think any of the genuine BMW kit allows you to stream music over bluetooth. Last edited by Aragorn30d; 06-12-2015 at 10:11 AM.. |

You want a BMW Professional Radio with bluetooth and usb. You can't stream music, but just stick a 128gb usb with your whole collection on.
Have a look here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463 |

If streaming is a deal-breaker, you can get some aftermarket widgets that connect to the Aux-in and act as a Bluetooth sink, this might be the cheapest/simplest way to achieve it? The other options require extensive wiring which is not present in your car (due to the missing SA64x options), and while retrofit kits are available, its unlikely to be cost effective. I think the Combox mentioned is for CIC cars only? |

Forgot to say, streaming isn't a deal breaker just thought it would be nice but saw the combox when looking around and I think that will work.
