Help JB4+ Downpipe having ptoblems
I had an AR downpipe installed last week on my 2014 435I and I slso have a JB4 and BMS intake that was also professionally installed. It has been driving great all week. Coming home tonight I got into it a little bit and I had a drivetrain malfunction light come on. The transmission started shifting hard and at weird times and it also went into limp mode. I went to my house and tried disconnecting the battery to see if it was just a computer malfunction. When I restarted it I now got a chasis stabilization light and it is still running weird. I am also getting a pretty loud whistling noise from under the car when I give it gas and let off. Did I tear the stock chargepipe? Any other helpor idea as to what happened would be greatly appreciated. Everything was professionally installed by a reputable BMW performance center. I unfortunately will not be able to get the car over to them until later tomorrow afternoon. Thank you

The whistling sounds like a boost leak.

Sorry to hear,
my guess is while installing the DP they may have not tightened the clamp from turbo to DP or wasent aligned and square to the dp. You can pull engine codes using the JB4, do you have and USB cable attatchment? If so pull the codes and post them. |

It is definitely the charge pipe. It is completely pulled away from engine and is cracked. I tried clamping it back on with a hose clamp but it keeps pulling off. I hope I can find one locally in the AM.

For a quick fix, let dealer warranty it while waiting for the upgraded aftermarket chargepipe being ordered.

Larry, You asked me to send you a pm for the turbo to intercooler chargepipe, but from this thread i see that you need the regular charge pipe. We have both in stock and can ship it within hours. I just want to make sure that i send you the part that you need.
