Best Body Shop Inspection Site - Geico

Just got in an accident front bumper is damaged and must get an inspection for an estimate from a Geico approved body shop. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me to a body shop that wont try to skimp out on repairs. Also do you recommend me getting an estimate and check or estimate and repair on site.

every single claim I have had Gieco under estimates the cost. Always a pain in the butt to deal with them.

I've never had a problem with Geico (2-3 claims).
Don't go to Craftsman auto body in Falls Church. I did Geico express or whatever there and had to take my car back for them to redo the rear quarter panel. I could see sand marks through the paint.

I just went to Lindsay collision center in manassas and got estimated $2000 to get the front bumper replaced and because my headlight had a "deep" scratch. This sound about fair right? I'm thinking of just buying an M-tech bumper and having the shop paint and fit it.

Also, what do you guys think about the headlight damage, is it repairable? Geico inspector said it would have to be replaced.. pics coming

It can be improved with wet-sending, but depends how deep it is.

What's your deductible? Just let them replace everything.

my deductible is $250 so they wrote me a 1750$ check. I'm trying to decide if I want to buy a mtech bumper and have the shop prime and paint. Right now i have the oem front bumper and they plan to just fix that up and repaint it.

The headlight scratches are not TOO deep. there are a few dings that go in a little further than the other. I'm thinking of wetsanding, 2k clear coat and buffing.

Is it a two-party check? Typically, if the repair costs more than the check provided, they shop will go back to Geico and get the rest - not your problem.
You're gonna have to start lower than 2000 grit.

Yeah the geico inspector told me if I get my car fixed at a geico approved shop and they need more money that geico will cover it. But the shop plans to just repair the current bumper instead of replacing it with a new one. I'm debating if this is a good opportunity to upgrade to an M-TECH bumper. Since I can get a brand new mtech bumper for 500$ and have it painted/fitted for another 400-500$, it's still cheaper than the estimated $1,100 to repair a damaged bumper.

I don't think that works with a two-party check. You can't cash it..

ah maybe it's not a two-party check then, my geico rep told me i could cash the check and do all the repairs on my own or have any shop i prefer make the repairs.
