Has anyone got firmware upgrade?

Hello,
I need to update my idrive firmware to download 2015 map. I got fsc code, and the map, but I cant update the NAV map, due to old firmware.

I searched, and it seems like I have to take my car to a dealer to do it.
Has anybody had the firmware updated?
Can you share your experience? Like where, and price, etc?

I'm getting ready to do this myself.

Gorillajin how did you find out you can't do the update? The install of the maps fail and give a code? Any way to check before?

unrealii you say Alex @ Alpine did your firmware. Can you elaborate? Was this remote update or did you visit him? Cost? How did you find out?

The NAV update stops at 92%, and it said dvd unreadable. I found out that my car firmware is too old that 2015 nav update is not possible.

The firmware update can not be done remotely. You have to go and meet Alex to do it. He is located in LA area.
