Mirror Folding - coding?

Is the mirror folding (as in the adaptive headlight package) just a coding thing or does it require some hardware installation. I used this function on my 328i when parking in shopping centres etc - just had to hold the lock button on the key fob and both mirrors folded in. Saves a lot of damage from uncaring idiots who like to wander between parked cars/

I'm pretty sure in Australia its part of the Visibility Package.

Yep thanks Mike, used to do that in the 3 series as well as use the key fob. For some reason the Australian spec 2 series doesn't have that button / function on the drivers arm rest unless you order the " headlight package". I thought that the 2 series may have been similar to the 3 inasmuch as, by holding the lock button on the keyfob, the sunroof and windows would close and the mirrors would fold in. I'm reliably told that this function (in the 3 series) is just a coding change so I was hoping the same was true for my M235.

On my M235i, I coded it to close on holding the lock button on the keyfob. However, I also do have the button on my driver armrest to close them.. I think that was part of the Premium package.

I guess that brings me back to my original question: Is it just a matter of coding this function or is there also hardware (servo etc) that is required if the door mounted button is not fitted?

If you don't have the button my guess is you don't have folding mirrors. I understand it's not just a coding thing.

Mine has the button and when I hold the lock button it folds the mirrors.

I didn't notice any part number differences in looking on ETK. Can't be certain until someone tests it out. I hope it works cause I didn't get folding mirrors as well.
