AWE Tuning Touring Edition Exhaust

A couple of months ago, I contacted Mike Spock at AWE Tuning about a set of KW coilovers for my car. When I came in for the install a few weeks later, I was hoping to get a demo of their Touring Edition Exhaust as well. As it turned out, the sales manager from a local dealership was there with his M235i at the same time and a quick ride with him was all the convincing that I needed. The sound of the AWE exhaust is, in a word, sublime and I placed my order that day. It has a deep, aggressive note while retaining the level of sophistication that I was after. The quality of workmanship and fitment is exceptional.

After the install on Tuesday, Mike and I went out for a quick test run and he recorded a few quick clips. The 40 minute ride home was a combination of suburban and highway driving. In the cabin, the tone is just a perfect improvement over the stock exhaust…restrained while cruising but unmistakably angry on throttle with plenty of crackling and burbles on overrun. At 2K on the highway, it’s relaxed without being the least bit tiring. Looking forward to seeing how the break in progresses over the next couple/few weeks.

Thank you for the review, Steve! It's been a pleasure working with you!

Our development M235i owned by ///M235i BMW GUY, sales manager at BMW of Devon was in that day. We were preparing for our BMW launch event being held there on June 7th. We set Steve up with a ride along and the rest is history! If you'd like to hear our Touring Edition with Performance Midpipe, you can see Frank's review here.

Exhaust sounds great.. loud enough, but refined.. Very few companies give me that warm fuzzy feeling like AWE.. I hope when it's time to upgrade my exhaust they are as good as I forecast.
