So ~$50 for something you'll hopefully never use? Genuinely curious.. why?

They should come with flares like the cars in Japan do. I love those things.

How mean of BMW. Do you also have to buy the first aid kit, luggage net, tool kit and electric pump for the PSS tyres as well?

There is an air pump and some tools underneath the trunk liner by the battery.

Car imported into The Colonies do have these. It's the OP's thread, alluding to the safety triangles, brackets, etc. that they don't come equipped with. All we get is the indent on the trunk liner where these are fastened into. My best guess is that the US automobile regulations doesn't mandate them on new vehicles.

You got tools? I got a screwdriver and a tow hook. That's it! I remember when BMW's came with a cool tool kit that folded up on the inside of the trunk lid.

I just got tired of seeing the indent in the trunk liner, and just like insurance, I hope I'd never need to use it but I know it's there if I needed it. I actually got a vest and a lifehammer too

Safety is not a compromise so BMW adds first aid kits and hazard triangles to all their cars sold in NZ. I add a fire extinguisher.

How many carry fire extinguishers I would say not many.

OMG that's hilarious! I keep my umbrella in the passenger's door sill since I don't want to get wet going to the trunk

I can understand, years ago some particular cars had gauges removed on the base models and a blank inserted, oil pressure was a favourite, so the first thing thing you did was go out to buy that gauge.
