M3/M4 discounts
Hi guys
With the car being out for close to 1 year now and with LCI around the corner I wanted to check what thoughts were on picking up a pre LCI 14/15 M3 with a decent discount. It would need to be an order as I want manual and Sakhir Orange. With any car I like to expect a min of 10%, I know it's an M car but with the points above is 15% achievable? A mate in Melbourne got 18% off a factory order 2014 328i last year. 96k down to 78.5 I'm in Sydney btw. Have a deposit on the M2 but if it doesn't meet my expectations I will go M3 Thanks |

There are definitely discounts to be had.
Have a look on carsales. There are loads of F80/82's that have 1500km or so on the clock that are selling for $20k below retail, and thats before haggling. Lots of "demonstrators". That is how BMW tends to discount cars like this, if they can't sell it, they let someone drive it around for a couple of weeks, then discount it as a demonstrator. Not sure how much you could get off a new ordered one at the moment, as I am not currently in the market, but definitely it would be much less than retail. The manual / SO combo is not going to make it so easy though. |

I've got a deposit down for the M2 and the M4 is my backup plan. I had one of my dealer reps call me trying to convince me to drop the M2 and get into a brand new 2015 for 140s. This rep has my deposit for M2 and the call was out of the blue. Works out to be quite a discount more than 15%. Just goes to show how much room there is on these cars and perhaps the M4/M3 isn't selling that well and all the hype and hard to get talk any dealer tells you is BS.

Good if you're in the market. Not good if you already have one. Oh well. But I like to look at things on the positive side. M2 price will have to be something like $100k with plenty of toys thrown in.

Not a good way to build loyalty of existing owners, but the car was over priced to begin with IMHO. Still not what I would call reasonable but not far off it.

As Mike said, great pricing for new buyers but kills off brand loyalty. |

Hi guys
Looked a month ago and was quoted 156 with a couple of options This weeks quote was 143 met paint and all the new inclusions. Seems like a pretty good price but welcome to hear feedback Really feel for the guys who just bought one. Good luck |

I hate to be just posting continually how wrong ethically and morally this $20-30k loss of value of anyone's M4/3 actually is but I just think the profound damage this may have on us all can not be overstated. Consider these factors ,
INSURANCE - If The market value of your vehicle that was say $170k a few days ago and that it is no longer even close because of the factory discount what are the implications FINANCE - finance companies don't like it when their asset is now say $25k unsecured Just a few things to remind us why a palm off is not ok |

Suspect we will significant price correction with easing of regs. With changes (if/when) to permitting parallel imports and 'luxury' tax. We have been bent over in oz for long enough.
