M235i deal, should I? Would you?

I'm at lease end and deciding on what to do...
Choices: in order of most important.
M2 (but must wait at least a year)
435i Msport (used CPO)
M235i
Another 335i...(not really wanting another of the same car)

Ok the deal I'm getting on this 2014 M235i since it sat at my dealer since last year is insane. I'm not telling where it's at but I am a long time customer. Let's just say the MSRP is $47,350 and I can walk out with this car for $39,990!! I do have to wait...but like I said this deal is insane.

Would you jump on this being its your 3rd favorite option?

I'm obviously leaning towards that M235i of course haha but that's an insane deal and a much more engaging car than a 4 series. The M2 may be worth the wait but who knows!? We don't really know if it will be that big a step from the M235i. If patience is something you possess wait to see how the M2 turns out...........if not M235i!!! Just my opinion, but you really can't go wrong with any of those. Good luck!

I'd wait for the M2. A year will fly by, and you'll wish you had waited. Put a little cash away in the mean time.

M2 is ideal but like you said we don't know what it's going to be like. The M235i was very very good! Did I mention the M235i is a brand new 2014? Just sat...no one up here wanted a RWD car I guess...

More solid info on the M2 shouldn't be that far away either. Just saw a post on the M2 forum today that "confirmed" color options and power output. I can't believe it's just been sitting there!!! Crazy.

Yep I'm reading through all 13 pages slowly...

Yeah my sales manager who is also a friend can't believe it either. I mean I guess if it was xi it may have been gone. You don't see too many hardcore enthusiasts up here where I'm at. Well not from a lure German car culture...more like build hot rods and muscle cars. Not sure but I may jump on this cuz it's and insane deal..

Mmm... was it used to demo? If so, no.

If you can wait it out, I would definitely choose the M2 over 235. Even if the performance boost isn't all that, it's undoubtedly going to look and sound even better.

No brand new, 203 miles on it. Just no one wanted it...

Yeah the M2 looks will KILL! No doubt. Im just in the boat of do I get the good deal now as the M235 would be my DD and I'd be afraid to DD the M2 since it would be lower and more expensive obviously. If have to get another car and in trying to get rid of everything and just have one for me and one for my wife (who drives a 228i M sport) by the way...

Eh... 203 isn't exactly brand new. 4-8 miles, yes. Anything beyond that means others have driven (and abused) it.

I'm extra cautious with these since I got burned on a "brand new" F30 that was sitting on the lot for too long. It had about the same amount of discount as yours. Didn't even last a year before I had to complain to BMW that it was a lemon.

Agreed. Considering each test drive wouldn't be more than ~10 miles or so, the car has seen atleast 20 different drivers. These drivers also are "testing" to see exactly how fast they can punch it from light to light and highway on ramps.

...which is how some of us drive on a day to day basis anyways... It's a car not a piece of art, it's covered by warranty and you hand it back in a couple of years so who cares how it's been driven!

Id say get the m235i and when the m2 does come out, you could always sell the m235i and may even break even....

Id be very tempted to get the m235i if it was configured to my liking. If you can hold out another month and see what the m2 has to offer would be my 2nd choice. Depending on how equipped, your looking at 15 - 20k savings over a M2. I would get the m235i add a tune and be done.

As some mentioned, with the deal you are getting you could always trade up for the m2 if you so desire.

I'd say buy the M235, and when the M2 comes out, you could then sell it at a profit, and use the extra cash towards the M2 down payment...Done!

No doubt in my mind. Buy the M235i. The warranty won't start until you purchased the car so you will be in warranty and maintenance until mid 2019.

I don't understand how this is such a "great" deal? I got $4k off my 2015 in December when it was really new and hadn't been driven at all. This car has depreciated $7k weather it has been driven or not imo; it's almost two model years old. I would want more $$$ off or walk on the deal and let the car continue to rot on the dealers lot.

Good point and another interesting angle. The depreciation does sting a lot even though it's basically a brand new car.

3rd favorite is an oxymoron...

Don't matter how good the deal is. Its 3rd choice.

M2 will not be as rare as the 1M. Lease the M235 for 2 years and order a M2 on time to replace it if you aren't in love with the M235. For the price you are getting, the residual should be excellent on the M235.

Not sure you can still lease a 2014 M235i even
If it's new.

Get the M235 and spend just some of the huge savings on some upgrades. There seems to be very few people on here that are not in love with theirs.
