YEP!
If you have idrive then only mp3's, but if you have non idrive it will play mp3's and wma's (windows media files)!

Yes it's great I have over 6 albums and 100 tracks on one disc, even comes up with album name and track listing, mind you I nearly have accidents trying to scroll through them while driving though.

even on non-idrive you can scroll.. and i think that is when Creepy almost crashes! I just don't bother trying now, its too dangerous as the display is too far down, small and too many controls to push and use.
The 3 series audio is best used with the steering controls (though limited) and i-drive (which i don't have). Sadly there is no display on the instrument/speedo display as with audi's and VWs... |

Stupidly, it lists the file name for the song, not the title, so you get a .mp3 at the end of every song. Press the LIST button when you are playing mp3 tracks because it shows two lines then and uses most of the width of screen so you don't get truncated titles.

Use your CD burning software, whether that Roxio or Nero or whatever else yo umay have. Set it to create a data disc. Drag and drop your favorite mp3 tracks on it till you reach the capacity of the disc. Ask it to burn the disc. Thats it, job done. Of course, ensure that you are not violating copyright by doing the above procedure. THR Doc |

mp3 CD burning
Quote:
There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) showing the requirements for mp3 playback here. To sum it up, the mp3 sampling rate must be 44.1KHz and any files must not be MP3Pro or VBR (variable bit rate) files. All the best. Viv |

I drop the whole album or songs from any given album it is own folder, otherwise you just get a long list of tracks.

Thread Hi-jack No.2!
Thanks for the earlier info hmi/creppy but do you or any others know if while playing mp3 discs can you get the random play to work on all the songs or just one folder (album) at a time?

My .mp3 files are organized by album. The tracks don't have a number at the beginning of the file name. When I burn a disc I drop the whole (or part of ) album on the disc in its own folder. The tracks end up in alphabetical order instead of track order as on the album. How do I get them ordered the way I want? I've used Nero and I've use Windows Media Player. Both put the tracks alphabetically.

SoYank, you have to give the track a number at the start of the file name:-
"01 Highway Star" "02 The Boys are back in Town" - and so on. If you don't use the leading zero, 10 will come after 1. If you have 100 tracks on your CD (unlikely?) you would have to number them 001, 002, 021, 022 and so on. |
