Rear view mirror: anyone else experiences this?

I am not sure if it's a common problem but I've noticed that the rear view mirror tends to slip a little every time it gets hot. The connection becomes soft and gravity pulls it down a little each time. I've noticed that very often, after a warm day, when I drive the car the position of the mirror would change. I use the same key and same seat position so it can't be that.

I will have the dealer look at it when I bring it in for service but was curious if anyone else has experienced this. When it's cold the mirror's joint is stiff and takes more effort to move. I've experience this for some time now but wanted to drive it for a while before I'm certain it wasn't me.

I was thinking mine did the same thing. Good to know I wasn't imagining it. I'd like to know what your dealer says!

Bought my car a year ago and adjusted the mirror then have not touched it since except the garage door button on the bottom.

At first I was thinking the same thing. So I made sure to check the seat position. After 2 or 3 times I knew. Just haven't had the time to take it to the dealer.

I didn't think this was a common problem or else you guys would have posted it already. I have had the car for a year now and I have noticed it long ago.

Thought I was the only one experiencing this too but again I just assumed it was from the radar placed on top of the rear view mirror. In my other car I didn't have this problem with the radar in same location.

This was extremely common, especially on my last F30 (which would do it based on time + vibration, regardless of temperature).

I just lived with it, but I believe if you complained about it to the dealer they could stick a little silicone in there to stiffen it up.

Interesting. I didn't have that problem with the E90. It's weird that it happened on the new 3.

No problems with my rear view mirror. I set it one year ago and haven't touched it since.
