Getting rid of small cosmetic windshield chips
Our cars love rock chips. I mean really love em! In two years my G37, I never got a single windshield rock chip. With the 2er just during wintertime I got a rock chip that needs repair and a whole bunch of small cosmetic ones.
My question is, are the small cosmetic chips repairable? Im talking about the small dots and dings that are cosmetic but visible and ANNOYING. Is it done the same way as repairing the chips that created a bubble? just using resin? or some other way? or is it not worth it and just suffer thru it? Thanks Roman |

Generally if it's too small to fill it can't be repaired. Usually when chips are filled it's to bond the glass and prevent the crack from spreading, but the stuff that's just chipped the surface can't really be filled.
Ultimately it's just one of the crappy realities of owning a nice car in the north east. I never had a windshield last more than 3 years. After 3 years the glass is so badly pitted from sand that I can't see out of it when driving home (into the sun) that it has to be replaced.
