Anyone Selling a Snell SA2010 Helmet?

Anyone have a Snell SA2010 rated helmet that they would like to sell? I probably need a medium, and would prefer an open face. Let me know what you have!

Just buy new. Proper fitment is VERY important and you will never know if the used helmet has been damaged until you actually get manufacturer to examine it or until you found out the hard way.

A new Bell or HJC will only run you about $200 FYI. Also, get full face, unless you are really claustrophobic.

http://www.northstarmotorsports.com/ is local so you can try to see which helmet fits your head better. They might give you a discount if you mention BMWCCA.

I'll probably have to buy new, but thought I would give it a shot. I only plan to do one track event this year, so didn't want to go too crazy.

Any reason for full face instead of open? I would think the improved vision of the open face would be preferred.

It will save your face if anything fly through the windshield (deer, detached go-pros, etc. happens more often than you think unfortunately...). Your vision won't be limited at all with most full face, FYI.

The only downside is it is harder to talk to the instructor. But most clubs these days use ear piece for in-car communication anyway.

I have a full face Shoei RF1100 that was only worn a few times before I sold my Yamaha R6. Its a Medium. Comes with a light blue mirror shield. Comes with Shoei bag. Its just been sitting in my closet for the past few years. If youre interested, I can get you some real pictures.

Well, I have gone to all the local drag strips with an old M-95 motorcycle helmet. Will Blackhack or Autobahn allow a M2010 helmet, or does it have to be SA?

Depending on the club/organization. Most don't allow M helmets on road course. SCCA PDX is the only organization that let M helmets by as far as I know.

Drag and autoX are fine, in most cases.

Well, it seems that Blackhawk will allow SA or M approved helmets.

That depends on the organization you do your DE events with. SCCA allows for M. But several other clubs that also have events at Blackhawk only allow SA. I know because I was trying to get away with using my bike helmet last year.

Unless you have a M helmet already, might as well buy the proper SA helmet to begin with.

Yeah, I think I'll just rent one for now, and hold out for the SA2015's so I can get a full 10 years of use out of it.
