Cigarette Lighter

So today I went to charge my phone in the outlet right under the radio. I just got the car delivered 3 days ago and this is my first time even opening the slot.

Wouldn't charge so I tried all the others ones and this is the only one that does't work. Easy fix or bring it up to the dealer?

I'd just take it in. Could be the fuse, but you'll have to figure out which one.

But why do you want to charge it there? The one in the armrest lets you connect your phone to iDrive AND charges it...

I like to have a charger that can charge at higher amps. From my experience, the USB charges very slow.

Any idea what was wrong? I have the exact same problem. I asked the dealership to check that and they said it is fine. But when I got home to test it with multiple USB adapters non of them work . (They all work on the rear one) I checked the fuse in the car and it doesn't seem to be broken.

I am going to bring it back when I have time, but if I know what is the common issue then I can tell them or fix it myself.

I would have found out but if you read my other thread.... My car was very sadly totaled

Unrelated and I don't smoke, but I miss these for some reason... Perhaps the end of an era...

Oh man. sorry to hear that. I'll report back here when they fix it, in case you are curious.

I have several, and they all work in the back (I'm currently just running a longer USB cable from that one). The only one that works in the front is a longer one (specifically, it's my SmartCord Live cable that I no longer use for my radar detector).

This leads me to believe the shorter ones aren't getting grounded properly on the front one, as the tabs on the side of the adapter need to be closer to the lip.

Bingo! All the ones I tried before were the short ones. Which all worked in the back but not in the front. I got a longer USB charger and it is working. This is odd, because I didn't have this issue in my previous 135i. Thx.

In case anyone wants to know this is the one that worked for me
