E90 Acceleration ??

G'Day All,

I recent times I have bought my first BMW which is the 2007 323i which has the N52 6-Cyl.

One noticeable characteristic of the engine is that if I plant the foot to the floor the car will not accelerate all that hard, but if I was to back off the pedal I can then feel the sure forward.

If from a standing start, I press the pedal progressively then the acceleration is good.

I guess this is part of the fly-by-wire design. Is there away around this which will give good acceleration if the pedal is planted ?

Secondly, I have also noted that when the RPM is climbing and reaches around 5,000RPM it appears to pull up and not produce the hard acceleration. This occurs regardless of how quick the pedal is planted.

Again, is the a characteristic ?

Fritzables.
