Advise of adding only a subwoofer and upgrade
Dear all:
I added a 12" inch subwoofer a while ago, but I do not like the result because I just simply pick up the singal form the rear speaker. Since I had the base stereo system on my 2011 e90 and I found that that siginal was bass cut. So I come out an idea to pick up the bass singal from the under seat speakers to the back amp and run back to the under seats speaker and upgrade it. Does anyone can tell me that will that works? Thanks very much. |

Yes, that's where you would find the bass.

Dear kaigoss:
Thanks for your reply, so does that mean I can simply cut the wire from the under seats speaker and then input it to the amp and then come back out to reconnect the underseat speaker and to my 12inch subwoofer? So if I want to upgrade the underseats speaker to sws 8inch, which amp do you suggest? a 3 way amp? One last question, does anyone know how to remove the door sill trim? just simply pull it out? |

Not sure if technic has a harness that will work with base stereo, but if not you're on the right track.
My opinion: find a good 4-channel amp, use 2 channels to power your upgraded under seat woofers (one channel each), then bridge the other two channels to power your 12" sub. You may find this setup too bass heavy, as you've got 3 woofers with a lot of power, and mediocre speakers for mids/highs that are only powered by the deck. If you want a more balanced sound, you'll want to amp all speakers, probably add some tweeters, and re-code the HU to get rid of the factory eq.
