Retrofit Rear Camera

I am sure someone has posted something similar, but was hoping to get opinions/ options on what I can do at this point.
I built my 15 435 GC with what I thought was what I needed.
I realized more and more as I drive, that I really should have had the rear camera package as well. Anyone know if this is possible at the dealership level or aftermarket. Thank!

I test drove a car before I bought mine, and there was no Driver Assist Pkg. The CA at the dealership told me that they had a local shop that installed back up cameras for some of their customers aftermarket.

The BMW do have a retrofit kit (or at least in the UK) and the dealer should fit it. In the UK I was quoted around £870 ($1300)+Tax and ~4.5 hours labour including coding/updating of FEM.

I just picked up an OEM reversing camera retrofit kit for ~ £370 ($550 USD) - new trunk mount camera, new cables/harnesses, used camera module (TRSVR). I had to get them from multiple sources though - Ebay, etc...
i'll be doing the install myself though...

i think bimmertech has a full turn-key solution, though its a lot more... i think around $1300?

+tax, which is another $260 and probably $1000 fitting at stealer prices

I went the bimmer tech route + Indy fitter. If you pay directly in euros it's much cheaper and coding is thrown in for free. Allow about 3.5h to fit and 1h or so for remote coding.

I am under the assumption that you need the navigation option. Looked around and I think it stated that it was required.
1300 is crazy considering that the driver assis pack was 950 when I built the car.
Should have just shelled it out...

was that DA pkg/option just for the reversing cam or did that also incl all the PDC front/rear also? if all 3 that's a bargain. i'll be lucky to get all my retrofit parts for all 3 (mix of new/used parts) for $1300 USD... but i bought my F30 used so wasn't an option for me

It included PDC as well.
It was a bargain considering how much it cost after the fact...

BU Camera

My dealer told me that he didn't order any 3 or 4 series with BU cameras. I ask my service advisor about them & was told that BMW doesn't have parts available or install them. I found an HD camera for a reasonable price but the interface for it to engage when the car is put in reverse was $400. A local car audio/electronics place said installation would be at least another $225. I'm probably going to wait until it becomes my daughters car in 3 years since she'll need it MUCH more than my wife does now.

Noticed for your OEM solution you are providing the 3 camera module rather than just the single camera module.. why?

Thanks Nelson.
Got the Bimmertech Rear Camera as well as the Smartview (screen mirroring)
I thought the install would be hard, but it wasn't so bad. Time consuming and scary yes at first, but really not bad.
Results are great. Can't tell the difference that the camera was not OEM. The handle with the camera built in is a very nice touch.
The Smartview is great as well. The screen resolution is not as clear as what your phone would look like, but the fact that the I drive screen looks like a stock navigation is awesome.
Thanks again Bimmertech!

I recently purchased the Bimmertech retrofit rear view camera for my 2012 335i and had it installed at the local best buy. I would definitely recommend the product. I have had it for about 6 months now so I feel comfortable giving it as a recommendation. It has met my expectations and operates like just like you'd expect from the factory. The only issue I had was when I opened it for the first time (at the best buy) the instructions ask you to take a picture of the contents and send it to them then they email the directions for installation. Not ideal if your are expecting a quick drop off. If you purchase make sure you do that prior to dropping the car off for the install.

Have you taken any pictures of the actual display you're willing to post?

To be fair on bimmertech, you should only need the instructions if it's true DIY. If you are DIY you'll need time to install the remote stuff on your laptop and ensure it works (I.e allows coding) with your car. Since at some point the reverse camera will be checked and coded remotely.

The authorised fitter I used (recommended by Patryk at bimmertech) sorted everything for me including the coding.

Still works perfectly bimmertech are brill and are very helpful when I dealt with them..... And more importantly no more marks on the rear bumper from hooking up to the trailer

Wow i didn't know best buy did installs like this. Are all Best Buys able to handle it and how much does it cost. If you did it by yourself is this about the same as installing the BavSound speakers? That seemed somewhat difficult for me
