Aftermarket wheels - equilbrate ?
Hi all,
i have ordered a few days ago some aftermarket wheels and snow tyres. I have just received it, pretty happy on the look but ... Look at the pictures, there is a lot of weights to equilibrate the wheels (up to 135 gr). The weigths are not put on the side of the wheels, but inside it. I know you have to use more weights when you do this, but i still find it strange to have so much weights. what do you think ? |

I wouldn't worry too much. Up to 170g is deemed "acceptable" to balance a wheel. However, since all those weights are on one side of the wheel, and I can't see any weights anywhere else, the ideal thing to do would be to rotate that side of the tire to the opposite side of the wheel. You may get excessive road force if you place this particular wheel on the front of your car (ie: vibrations).
