2008 328xi - My experience last few years! Awesome.. Now I have some issues
Hi All,
I've looked through the forums and there is a wealth of information, but the information is sometimes hard to distill. My car has been awesome for the last 4 years and still is, but in the last week or so, I have seen some odd stuff happening. The car just cleared 40k miles today. 1. I have a message on idrive about my right tail light malfunctioning. The bulbs all look good, and I have change one bulb, but the issue remains. The bulb looked ok, but based on my reading it stated the middle bulb should be replaced. 2. Noticed that car start to sputter. When accelerating (manual) on first and second gears I feel a slight hesitation. It almost feels like a misfire. 3. Ran my scanner and received the following codes. Not sure they they are related to point 2. 2A1A - Tank-venting system, function 2A17 - DMTL, system fault If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Drove for coffee, and on the way back...
CCID 370 - AWD, DSC, ABS, EBV malfunction Did a scan and looks to be AOB5 Wheel-speed sensor. Hope that its just this and not anything worst. Anyone else seen this behavior? Is the behavior listed in the first post and this maybe related? |

The battery was changed about a year ago.
On the way home after turning the car off and then on again, I heard a grinding noise. I think its looking to be more the transfer case issue. My scanner also said 5F3A. |

Tank venting system, number one cause could be gas cap.... $18.
But if not that, then remove the rear bumper and take it to a shop to do a smoke test. It will reveal where the leak may be. Also, what are you using to get these codes? If it is not BMW diagnostic, then it may be a general code. DN |

The tank vent may have been the gas cap I did put gas recently. I cleared it and haven't seen it come back in a couple days. I'll keep monitoring that one.
I think the problem to address first is the grinding noise. I'm using the C110 to pull codes and the iCarsoft i910. They are pretty much the same device, just one was my brothers that I tried also to ensure I am seeing the same codes. |
