I have seen the light

So I was dead set on getting an F30 335i untill I saw the light. I just changed my mind the other day and fell in love with the m235i.

Originally my thinking was that a 4 series is pretty similar to 3 series but its a coupe, so that must mean 2 series is similar to the 1 series, but man was I wrong!

I never really liked the 1 series because I always thought they looked to squished and compacted. Also I am 6'2" 225 lbs so I thought there was no way i'd fit into a car like that.

It wasn't until last week that I really noticed the 2 series and how good they look. They are amazing! Also the mppk, optional lsd, and pss tires are all things that I would have put into the F30, but are stock in this car. Huge savings! They are also very similarly priced so its a no brainer.

I went to a dealership yesterday to see one in person and sit in it, and it was even better than I expected. I hope to buy one right at the beginning of June CPO 2014. Hopefully there are still some for sale. The pickings are already pretty slim in the northeast as of right now.

Getting pretty excited and its only a couple months out now just wanted to share my epiphany.

That is funny...I am the exact opposite. I love my 228i, but my girls getting in and out of the back seat is getting old. I saw a nice 335i last week when I was getting my oil changed. My oldest turns 16 in less than three years and I am thinking of passing my 2er down to her and getting a 335, or whatever they will be called then. My 2ers resale took a nose dive after I was rear ended so trade in will not be worth it.

Interesting. I had an F30 and got out of it for a M235i because my oldest is going to be 16 in May and he already has a E85 Z4. I don't need 4 doors any more since my wife has a Grand Cherokee and my son has his own car. I couldn't wait to get out of my 328 and into the M235i which is MUCH more fun!

In the same boat, pining for a 228i while I ride out the depreciation of my 328i. Every test drive and UDE has made the wait that much more painful.

Yep...your going from a 4 banger to the 6 so it should be more fun. If I am going to have a back seat I would rather have 4 doors I think. Its ok for now the girls are still small...but the litter buggers keep growing! When I get to the point where I really dont need a back seat I think I will be getting the Cayman!

I'm 6'3 225lb as well. I feel your pain. Came from an F30. Took me a solid month to figure out the most comfortable seat position (I'm broken everywhere from my time in the service) but now no regrets. So much fun. And size reminds me exactly of my old e46 M3 so I fit like a glove now. Good luck!

Interesting thread everyone. I'll be 2 years into my 3 year 335 lease in August, which means I'm getting closer to my 6 month pull ahead which I always take advantage of. I'm looking forward to driving a M235 and hopefully an M2. From what I've have been reading here and in the car rags, it's the best BMW for me. I'll keep you apprised.

No the only one they had was in there shop so I was sitting in a 228i just for sizing. I didn't think that one would be worth it to drive because the 228 and m235 would feel completely different. Also I wasn't going to be buying for a couple months and not from that dealership so I didn't want to use the SA's time for something that wouldn't be a sale.

I did test a couple 335Ix about a month ago and an Audi S4.

I don't have kids and won't for a while. Actually i was against 2 doors for the reason of cramming people in the back. I don't often drive more than 1 other person around which is what made me change my mind. Also I have a small SUV daily driver.
