HD radio artist/song info for 2012 w/nav
I got a ride to work from the dealer this morning in a 2015 X5 and that car showed album art and song info on the display. Unless I just haven't figured it out, my car doesn't have the album art capability and getting the song info requires a few clicks and can't be made the default.
Is this software upgradable? Or is it a feature of the newer models? Thanks Pete |

I think this is a feature of the NBT iDrive. Those of us with CIC (prior to 2014 MY) don't have the capability.

Ok thanks. Certainly isn't a necessity, just thought it was cool. The thing that really puzzles me is why the RDS/HD song info isn't the default display for radio. I guess they realized that and fixed it for NBT...

First make sure it isn't disabled:
In the Radio menu, Press Option > Scroll Down and ensure HD Radio Reception is checked. Then just tune to the normal frequency for instance 98.7. After a second or so it will switch over to HD and you will see an indicator at the top. |
