recomendations for a car vacuum
My old dust-buster finally died for I'm in the market for a new one to help keep my M235 clean. Any recommendations?
You know, one of those cigarette-lighter powered hand-held devices... though I'm not against battery powered if those are 'the best' these days. Thanks in advance. |

I think it's fantastic that you actually still had a Dustbuster. I use my Dyson as well. It is a bit cumbersome to haul out, but the suction is great. Floormats clean up as well as taking it to the big vacuums at the car wash places.

I think a blower is as important as vacuum for cleaning rear window shelf, under seats and nooks and crannies I use a large wet/dry blower vac but this may be an idea. http://m.craftsman.com/craftsman-c3-...p-00917598000P

DustBuster Lithium 14.4v. It truly sucks in a good vacuum cleaner way. Best of all cordless.

ArmorAll makes a compact 2 hp vacuum for cars that is great. It's small and comes with a bunch of attachments and only costs about $35 and really works well.

Personally, I would never fool with a 12v vacuum. I have always been disappointed in their performance compared to 110v units. I have used the Craftsman shop vac for many years. The narrow width design makes it easy to pull between cars in the garage. The power is exceptional and it will never wear out.

Cleaned my car interior for the first time. I clap my shoes about 1500 times before getting in so my car doesn't really get dirty fast. Man that back window is a pain in the ass to clean.

I decided on the ArmorAll 12V car vac. I found that it's cheapest at Walmart and found a Walmart that had some about 20 miles away from me (in a bad part of town).
I went there on the way home, ran inside (worried about my car the whole time), eventually found they had 4 of them, picked the box in the best condition and left. After getting home & opening the box I found it's missing the brush adapter and already had dirt inside. Grrr.... it's a used one put back on the shelf. It seems to work pretty good during my 2 minute test but I'm debating if I return it and risk my car again in that parking lot. I definitely got unwanted stares as I parked. Hmmm... |

Griots Garage has the best Vac for the money. I truly love it.
They have two choices. One works as a blower. I have and prefer the vac only. http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...Picks&refType= |

Anyway, I went back today with my wife's beater car. I returned the vacuum and got a new, unopened one. Seems pretty good so far. I'm satisfied. |

I find the ones that come on regular vacuum cleaners are too big to fit in some tight areas, like between the seats and the center console. |

Another vote for Dyson. I have a DC34 handheld that works great -- except for a short run time per charge.

I use my shop vac for heavy cleaning and my Duster Buster for light cleaning. Also, I occasionally use a soft, new paint brush to get the dust out of the nooks and crannies.
