Software update

Has anyone had problems downloading the software updates. My system works fine now and I don't want to screw things up.

Not the Nav but the internal software, Bluetooth upgrade, etc.

IIRC, these upgrades occur through iConnect. They are pushed out to your car by BMW through it's 3G connection to BMW.

No, just had my car in for oil change and they advised to download to a thumb drive, place the thumb drive into UBS port on car and go to setting, download updates. I didn't want to do this if anyone had problems. You can get the site by going to BMW support and place the last four digits of your vin numbe,r.

Funny this should come up today, last night I did the update for my m235 and it's as simple as you can imagine. Just get a USB stick and download the software, save it to the stick, then plug it in to the port in the car, go to your settings and it will guide you through the rest.
Hope this helps.

I did this and have no new problems. My car will randomly just drop my cellphone bluetooth connection for both music and calls and act like the thing just vanished. I have to turn the car off and then back on to get it to repair the devices. It did this before the update and still does it after. It does offer me the option to revert back to the older firmware, but since it seems to be equally bad I haven't bothered.
