Updated Car SW & Coding

Last week BMW updated all my software for the car after installing several new electronic components. They said is was necessary to fully integrate the new parts with the various systems. I don't have the new SW ver #.

Obviously, this overwrote the 3rd party coding that was performed late last year. Has anyone heard of or experienced the inability to now recode the additional functions that were previously incorporated? Every so often I hear rumors that BWM had or was attempting to make it increasingly difficult to gain access to and modify their codes to activate or modify some of the functions.

Thanks,
Woody
