msrp vs actual price

Hey everyone - after a 1.5 year hiatus and a couple Range Rover sports (one v8 sc and an autobiography) I'm ready to come back to BMW! Plenty of reasons (long story) but what are people paying vs msrp for current orders for the x5m? Thanks for the help.

Also any sense of reliability for the last generation? I'll dig through the forum but if anyone wants to share any views I would appreciate it.

I had a couple weird issues with my 2010 X5M, like suspension and electrical but my 2013 X5M has been flawless for 25,000 miles.

mines been relatively worry free for three yrs now. only issue was gummed up injectors but its b/c we use corn for gas over here like idiots. they were replaced by bmw at no cost.

the AC sounds like its from an old GMC truck pre 2012 model. something in the way they designed and placed the fan or something.

i'm guessing this new one will be all the fun plus some refinement. interior obviously but some of the other non critical mechanics

few with long term relationships are getting discounts.

there is a substantial wait list though

How? That seems to be impossible?

I was wondering if you happened to know a dealer who is willing to play ball. You can send me PM if you prefer. Thank you....

You beat me to it.... ;p

Click on the person's name on the left, then "Send Private Message". Doesn't work on the mobile view of the site.

I hear you all but there is only a small percentage of people getting below invoice. I for one, I'm only getting $3,000 off sticker. I would say the TriState area is really hard to get a huge discount for these cars due to the allocation the dealers have on them. I visited 5 dealers and all of them said the same thing... We are only getting 1 X5M per month and the discounts varied from $0 to $3,500 off sticker. I stayed with the dealership I've been working with and was able to get other discounts on the Tire/Wheel Pkg and Accessories. Goes back to supply and demand....

In nyc unless you have long term you aint' getting anything but msrp

all you people getting invoice and 6K off must be blowing your rep weekly or live in some part of the country where nobody can afford to buy these things

+1.

We're both working with the same dealer, both with the Sales Manager, and have both referred a large volume of vehicles as well as tending to buy a lot ourselves .

That said, a chunk of my deal is coming from incentives (BMWNA rebate), some from discount. I've found that shopping dealers nationally can often get you a better deal.

I've referred the dealer to friends in California, who've bought cars and had them delivered to dealers near them.... proximity isn't entirely what matters

If you ended up with a deal you're happy with - that's the important part. There is a supply and demand thing here, and honestly anything that lands you somewhere between invoice and MSRP likely isn't bad.

Not true. Check out dealers in NJ and you will get a decent deal. I am not in the market but I took my car for service to my dealer in NJ this week and saw a fully-loaded white X6M with red interior there. Took it for a test drive and was offered a very competitive deal.

It was for the car they had in stock. It was I think fuly loaded ($117K MSRP). They also had another one black on black.

It sounds like you are like me and order custom cars vs. get what's on the lot. I was just very surprised they were being aggressive on a car that probably was delivered to them a few days ago and was in short supply.

Just wanted to share in case people here are looking for what I thought was a very decent deal in NJ

We moved to NJ from Dubai, UAE in December. I ordered my X6M in December and should get next week. Will also order my wife an M4 next week. I dealt with a couple of dealerships and went with the one who gave me the better price, even though they are 40 minutes away vs. 5 minutes to other one.
If you want my CA name let me know.

Anyone with more recent deals?

Even though it's several months after the last post, I'm finding that supply is still low (for order slots).

I have found dealers willing to discount on cars on the lot.

I am paying MSRP for my X6M. Had been tried to quote from few dealers in LA area, all quoted me the same MSRP with zero discount.

Also the high demand for on X5M and X6M, it's very tough to get discount from dealers in LA area.

Did you order the car or was it on the lot?

What dealers in LA? Did you stay west of the 405 or explore in the valley or east of LA?

PM me if you want.

There is no high demand... the cars are mostly sitting there at the local dealers. While some popular colors got sold on the X5Ms (DG, for example), there are plenty in stock in other colors and I don't see them flying off the shelves. The X6Ms are certainly not selling.

You are paying MSRP for a 2015? I got $1400 under invoice on a 2015 from the showroom floor. I was offered same discount on X6M.
