SO F80 mini build and ACS springs pictures

I have had the car just over two weeks , it was an ex demo and came well spec'd , I had taken a YMB out three times for the test drives it was also an ex demo , I was certain this was the car I was going to buy but on the day I went over to do the deal they had the SO parked next to the YMB, somehow the colour jumped out at me in a huge way and deal was done in the car.

I have added carbon fibre rear spoiler , front bumper inserts , hand brake , gear selector knob and selector trim with alcantera and a non display alcantera steering wheel . Front grills and side gills chnaged to gloss black and last week I fitted the BMS can flap module , in my opinion this is quite a bargin given the cost of other options , it has more features than controlling the exhaust valves and with the specific USB cable all other new firmware can be added free of charge.

Frm the off I was not a fan of the front arch gap , yes I know BMW has spent millions on development of the car but these cars will always be a compromise for the buying public. I looked at the options available and decided to go for the ACS spring in the end , there were a few reasons for my decision , drop heights , ACS know their BMW's well and finally the warranty piece of mind. Yes they were more expensive but 1% of value of car is fair to me .

Final addition was the MS spacers 15/12 combo , geo was looked at before installation and after installation it was tweeked to allow for the drop heights . So far not much driving has been done on the springs but I can say that in comfort setting it feels better than OEM , quick usage in the other settings has so far revealed no concerns / issues but more testing is required.

From the pictures can see there is still reasonable clearance at the front and no issues so far with speeds bumps etc , although I am approaching at slower speeds and taking my time .

Hope you like the photos :-

That looks fantastic really well done. I prefer the SO over the YMB and it looks great. I think it will look even better in the one day of summer sun we can expect sometime in July, don't miss the photo opportunity lol. I am happy that you like the ACS springs and the drop does look good.

Only nine more days until the reveal of the Black ness ///Monster

Yes I gave the car a light paint correction detail , have UK say given it is 6 months old and has been driven daily as the demo car everything had held up really well. There are a few very small chips but I prefer to see the paint than to protect it with a film.

Cheers Denso , I bet you are excited to ge your hands on the car , the reveal will put a huge smile in your face , from the college of pics we've seen she looks fantatsic and mean . I fee, the springs have worked well , as you know. Was gong Eibcah but chickened out ! I think the ride height will drop a little more as my have done max 30 miles in the car , going out today to get more miles in the car and try the sport / sport plus settings and see how they feel.

Yes one day of sun shine is about right I will be there ready to take some pictures almost a like to like to thes I've posted so people can see the transformation in the colour , even if only one day .

Ime on count down to see your fill reveal.

Looks awesome, love the interior! and snap on the colour

Was just wondering, do you know if the Perf steering wheel comes with different colour 12oclock tabs instead of blue? Was hoping to match the SO! Also what was the height drop witness with the ACS spring from stock?

Thanks,

Thanks for the photos. They look beautiful. Good choice on the SO vs YMB. When you have time, please take more pics of your car! Preferably a wide profile shot so we could see the drop in context. I'm considering the ACS springs.

Looks great! I'm so needing to get some springs on mine now, already priced up the fitting for the ACS springs at my local dealer (still need to chat to my old mate Lorcan for a deal on the springs themselves haha!), saw Marks H+R fitment the other day as well so have a couple of chooses but yours looks perfect, drop is just right and should get over speed bumps I hope!
