Detroit Auto Show

Went on the last day (yesterday) and I must say I am a little disappointed overall.

Lots of the new cars, but I thought there'd be more tuner cars, etc., in the basement. There was a little energy missing for sure. I haven't been to the Toronto show in a couple of years, but IIRC, we put on a pretty good and big show, comparable if not better than Detroit.

Highlights:

#1: Chrysler Town & Country swivel chairs for the second row. Yes, #1. The chairs can actually swivel out and face the door opening. No more reaching in to unbuckle the kids from their car seats. Would be beneficial for the elderly too.

#2: BMW owner's lounge. Nifty. Not advertised, but just show your key for some quiet time on the second floor loft with a drink and pretzels.

#3: Nissan GT-R poster. Saw the real car, but the prize was a nice large, glossy poster.

There were some of the standard wow cars like the Ferraris, Lambos, etc., but for me they are outta my league during this lifetime and the next, so why bother.

Lowlights:

#1: DUBS cars in the basement. Absolute garbage. Overweight pieces of glossy junk.

the bmw lounge was closed on Friday afternoon when I was there, kind of a bummer, I wanted to see what it was like. We were there in the afternoon and for some odd reason they weren't opening the lounge until 4pm. Kind of silly to have it and not be open during prime time hours.

Great show though, although I can agree, wasn't as good as I had remembered in the past. Didn't make it down to the basement, didn't sound like I missed much though.

If I remember correctly, Lexus and MB had a lounging area for owners at the TO autoshow last year, I remember BMW had one as well, but not sure about last year...

ive been to the detroit show the past 2 years and wasnt impressed at all.
most of the exhibts looked teh same as the year before

at least bmw had a larger redesigned lounge this year, but for the most part it was disappointing

ill probably give it a year or two before i go back
