first 220i convertible in New Zealand today.

Waiting for it's pre delivery and paper work to arrive so it can be put on the road. I hope to test drive the demo soon. Steering wheel is on the correct side.

From my perspective it looks like steering wheel is on the wrong side.

It surly is odd being on the left as all boats are centre or on the right side as they should be. I can never understand why some countries changed to the left years ago.

The convertible seems to be well assembled and looks to be better built with tight joins. I'm so looking forward to my drive. The car is for the wife and I'm torn on getting the new Mustang convertible due in November. I'll test drive in Hawaii in August.

The Mustang V8 premium auto convertible is the same price as the our 220i convertible and the 4 premium auto is $15k less.

BMW only brings in the 220i to New Zealand and to be honest it's all we need for our roads. I would even look at the 218i as my 116i fly's around our roads and leaves the big powered cars behind. We have small car driving tight roads with heaps of corners and hardly no freeways. We also have speed camera vans who can be anywhere even at night, but our speeding fines are not to bad compared to Australia who have huge fines and you only need to be 1 mph over the speed limit, we are allowed to be 10mph over most days of the year.

The Mustang is just a dream as I've always wanted an American car with a lot of history, but they never had right hand drive until now with the Mustang.

So I've been to NZ but don't know the history of auto preference. It's it a bad thing to drive a "GM" Holden car from AU in NZ? Folks here in the U.S. are still warming up to the Chevy SS (Holden import) but it's impressive on paper. There is sort of a cult following of the Holden cars here for the hard core American V-8 crowd (Pontiac GTO, Chevy SS etc). Essentially a 4 door Chevy Camaro. Ha.

GM Holden is finished, they are closing down all production in Australia next year, the same as Ford and Toyota.

Still get the girl the more refined premium 220i MSport Convertible. The car will be way more refined than anything Ford has to offer.
