I actually got pulled over in my E39 540 and the cop measured the window tint...Was over the limit and got a warning...

Living in MN, its almost not worth tinting..Ridiculous vs other states.

Could always try Air Blue, its almost clear but all the UV protection of good tints.

Jokes aside, I've never been hassled surprisingly but I drive with my windows down in the city. And a little trick I used to do in my e90 was open the moonroof cover (when I saw a cop) to let light in, makes your tint look much lighter.

I am at a point at this day in age that I do not want to be without tint. It's great for privacy and it's great for protection, in more ways than one.

I remember in high school they use to wait on the side streets to pull over the kids who got their licenses & cars and look for a reason to give a ticket. Me being one of them during my high school times. I was coming back from lunch and a highway patrol motorcycle cop had the balls to follow me into the student parking lot and ask for my license & reg and my windows had been down the entire time since I left from where I was for lunch and then he asked me to roll them up and then measured them and gave me a ticket and I asked him "Shouldn't you be patrolling the highways and instead of giving teenagers an 'equipment violation' ticket??" He responded "I can do whatever the hell I want..." and drove away. End result....I got the ticket thrown out and didn't pay jack.....


I always go by that if you do not drive like a total douche past a cop then your tints won't give them a reason to pull you over cause that is the first thing they always say to you if your windows are up. Drive fine and they won't hassle you, that's if you get a total d**k.
