My iphone does not connect properly to my car after iphone 6 upgrade

Hey guys ever since i upgraded to the iphone 6 my phone does not properly connect to the car. By that I mean my phone is seen by the car and I can select my music but it does not play. Also sometimes the music details do not show on the screen it just says unknown artist and song. This is when I connect with the Iphone usb cable. I spend 3500 extra to get the tech package I would really appreciate it if this damn thing works. Not only does this not work but the freaking navigation is crap, it rarely finds the address i need.

Interesting. I've experienced no issues in my 13 335i when upgrading from 4S to 6 Plus. Double check all your settings in the iphone and the iDrive to see if some were reset to default by chance.

Have you tried updating ConnectedDrive?

If you are having issue with finding addresses in Nav, perhaps an update to a more recent mapping data will fix that issue.

There's no guarantee that installing the 2015 BMW Nav update will address your issue so it may be best to try the non-official route of updating it:

I'm having the same issues regarding music with my iPhone6+ lately. I end up having to unplug the iPhone, restart it, and then restart the entire car. It's ridiculous!

Did you try unpair / re-pair the phone? It worked for me.

Try killing the Music app on your phone and any other app that can play audio (YouTube, Pandora, etc.). Then try to navigate to the song via iDrive.

I ran into this problem yesterday.

Hi guys, I have had the same issues. I switch my phone between my X5 F15 and 435i and sometimes the music detail does not import to the idrive, or after a phone call the music does not continue of played from th phone.

The problem is intermitted, therefor I cannot determine the intervals and what might cause it. I do however get the problem since hy have had both my vehicles software updated and also updated the iPhone to the latest iOs.

Other wuestions which I saw on the internet was many people that are looking for the iPhone 6 Snap in Adaptor, which seems to be not available. I have a great relationship with my dealership in Cape Town South Africa and they put it some great efforts to get me 2 x snap in adaptors for both my vehicles. Both vehicles is fitted with the optional BMW Apps and Connected Packages.

For any one interested, here is the part nr for the adaptor 84 21 2 407 464.
