Videos through USB on NBT iDrive?
I've tried searching the forum and every thread I've read is only about doing this through their iPhone/Android but no mention of the USB.
Is anybody able to shed some light on this for me please? Thanks! |

Didn't work on mine, there was no video option in more media. I had to code it to work.

There are codecs it doesn't understand...I don't recall which, but I've run into them. This feature has been very spotty for me. Never got it to work with any device, either USB or Snap-In. I have gotten it to work off a memory stick though.

MP4 formats are recognised.
There are also a couple of video format codec's that can be activated via coding on the headunit. Enable XVID codec for USB videos Enable XVCD codec for USB videos Enable OGG codec during video playback |

I'm having a similar problem. All my media is off a thumb drive on the USB port in the glovebox. One of the albums I bought off iTunes had a video of it which plays just fine. I have coded the car so the video will play while in motion. I have 2 movies which I downloaded off iTunes which only show the first frame of video as a still. I'm assuming the codec's are the same, but one works and one doesn't. Is it a file size issue? Has anyone had success getting a full length movie to work off iTunes?
Disclaimer- I will not be watching movies while driving, but I have my 2 year old daughter forward facing in the middle seat and being able to put on Frozen on the Nav may be enough to stave off a melt down if we get stuck in traffic on a long trip. |
