Vacuum issues N54 2007 335i
Just bought and installed new VRSF charge pipe and Tial BOV. BOV wasnt opening so checked vacuum and at idle I am pulling 10 in/hg and at rev 14 in/hg. Replaced vacuum lines at throttle body and 2 that run over the oil filter housing. Can any of you point me in a direction to look where my vacuum is escaping. Also 2 other points, my car is not throwing any codes and I am at altitude 5600 feet. Much appreciated for the help

are you sure BOV is working fine?
it should be opening some.. IMO |

The BOV could be an issue IMO but trying to rule out where some common leaks are to go hunting as everyone is telling me even at altitude I shouldnt be half of the vacuum that most cars run at. Thanks for the reply and input as it looks like I will be digging around the passenger side of the car a bit today

fmonteiro444, do I need to go factory vacuum lines for the ones that go back to the wastegates (with the sheathing) or did you replace with some loom on them. Found multiple little leaks on these old vacuum lines and a big one on the brake booster (elbow) on the firewall. My hopes are getting it all done next weekend and wanted to buy enough parts up front. Thanks again for your input.

We're you able to get more vaccuum? Or did you just replace the spring?
I had to use a 10psi spring in mine because it wouldn't open fast enough with the 10psi spring. Buy I'm at sea level. |
