Any previous 1ers miss your old ride at all??

I'm curious to hear your thoughts and the type of 2 you bought. I have a stock 2011 135 with DCT and really enjoy it a lot but,.... Two things really Annoy me to the point I'm considering a 2:
The dreaded DCT lag and the unplanted feel of the car under acceleration even with PSS fitted....
Care to chime in?
Thx guys

Oh hell no. My 228 is a superior car to my 128 in every way.

Edit

Almost every way. I miss that big six and the sounds it made

Nope. Not that there was anything wrong with my 125i, apart from not enough power, the M235i is much better in all ways.

I'd still have my 135 N54 it it wasn't wrecked.

Zero regrets moving from a 2011 135 to an M235. Despite posts on the forum to the contrary, I love the steering and active suspension on the 235. Also the wheel/dash is probably my favorite of any BMW I've seen so far.

Don't get my wrong, I loved my 135 and it served me well. But the 2 is definitely an upgrade.

I moved from the 128i to M235i but was able to keep the 128i :-) Can't really compare 135i w/DTC vs. M235i

Nothing bad to say about my 135, but the 235 is superior in every aspect.

Changed from 128i to 228i and I believe the 228i is a big step up.

Feel out of place here but I just ordered my 2015 M235 6MT with a whole bunch of M performance parts..... IM coming from a 2011 E92 M3 DCT :x:X as you can tell Im kinda mixed but I have to say I am In love with the M235 and after driving one for a weekend I have to cosign with all the other awards and winning reviews and statements. The M235 will be my 3rd BMW coming from a 2008 335I 6speed M sport then on to my 2011 M3 DCT and now letting go of my M3 due to out of warranty and was offered one hell of a deal and trade in etc for the M235. Just wondering if anyone else has swapped a M model for a M 235 fully built out to liking LSD etc?

I've owned both previous generation M3's....Over 10 BMW's in 20+ years...My M235 is my second favorite of em all..Second only to my E46 M3.

Its much more driveable IMO than the E9x M3 which really had to be revved to get some torque....But oh did I love that S65 under the hood regardless

Apologies for the thread jack OP...

The DCT lag is fixed with the latest SIB on that issue. I personally didn't feel any unplanted feeling. Driving around in the dealer's 335i feels more unplanted oddly. The car just moves with any little movement of the steering - seems like there is zero play. Also my 135 has active steering so I think that helps at high speed as the steering is more direct.

I would like to hear from those who bought a 235 coming from a 135 because the new car looks much better and the electronics are much better. It's a pity about no HUD in the 2 series. That would have been a factor in changing cars for me.

I know for sure the new 335i is not for me. It's more of a family highway cruiser. The steering feels like it's connected with a rubber band to the wheels, if anything the new 328i felt better to me and this is very odd for me to say.

Those features are necessary from what I hear. All the 3 series I've tried were lacking VSS and dynamic handling.

This is good to know as I'm looking at an 2011 M3 or 235i. It seems the to get one in MT requires 6 weeks lead time. Nobody has one on the floor. Every day I feel like biting the bullet on this. Maybe even do ED.

Im hoping my build will take around 12 weeks, same as most other members taking delivery it seems. I went with 6MT as well, I enjoyed my DCT on my M3 but can't wait for LOVE of the three pedals back in my life! Its rare IMO seeing any models with a manual on the lots these days....

Nope. Almost a year now since I moved from a 135 6MT M-sport ed. to M235. The 2er is better in *almost* everyway. The *almost* refers to what some subjectively call "rawness". The 2er is a tad more civilized, even in sport+.

My 135 rode firmer and the steering felt significantly heavier. I do miss it but the 2er is. A great car and I don't regret the move.

135DCT was a great fun car... But m235 even better.

135 was not as refined and harder suspension but the rawness of the ride and jerky dct changes was great.

The only thing about 135 that got to me was the blip lag when you touch throttle... that wasn't for me..

All in all Both are superb, you got to hand it to BMW

DCT lag is fixed? This would've made all the difference!
Pity it took so many years to sort out...

Yeah the DCT lag is fixed by the SIB 12 15 14. However my charge pipe broke and in the process of fixing it my SA called and said another software update is being applied. I'm a little worried because the last software update for sure detuned the car. The SIB 12 15 14 seemed to bring it back. However one of the updates for the lag issue got rid of my pops and burbles which were great when I bought the car. However the lag was crazy then. It's just crazy how each software update makes it feel like a different car.
