water get into door speakers causing hiss noise

Has anyone experienced that water leaks into door speakers which causing hiss sound.
My rear door speaker started making hiss noise. I took the door pannel out to check. Just by chance it was right after I washed the car. There were some water in there. My speaker was wet and so are the connectors.
The hiss sound went away after it was dried out. Just 2 days later hiss sound has returned! I would really hate if I had to replace this rainbow speaker It sounds very very good. Does anyone know how to remediate this problem?

Water is a conductor. Isolate the speaker connectors with shrink tubing.

If the speaker is getting wet you need to fix that even if it isn't causing the hiss.

The door speakers in the F30 will get wet- there is no vapor seal in the back of the cones as in the E90. The speaker connectors/terminals cannot get wet.

I would take measures to protect the speaker from getting wet if I wanted confidence that the driver would last more than a couple years. It isn't like it requires building a fiberglass enclosure! Just make a little hood (out of Dynamat?) to shield the moving parts (and connections) from getting wet.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will need a weekend to remove all the panels and make the insulation! I think the speakers have some degree of water resistance, hopefully it will withstand some water.

Funny enough! I just found out that the rubber list on the door window is not tightly attached to the list on the door!! Man, this is f... disgrace for being a premium German car!! Any of you can check if your lists are properly attached. It looks like the list is too short causing some water leaks into the door chamber

Aftermarket and OEM speakers are water resistant. Connectors are not -that is the reason that BMW moved the connection plug to the side of the speaker frame and left the cone exposed to the water in the F30. In the E90 the connection plug was under the frame -the door vapor seal covered that area from moisture.

All aftermarket speakers have their wire connectors under the frame. And in the F30 that means that they will be exposed to water.

It is so easy to protect the driver from getting wet, I don't understand why anyone would accept letting it get wet. :
