original injectors vs "updated" injectors

So I had a misfire develop, replaced the plugs, swapped the coils, and still had the same cylinder continue to do so. Turns out the fuel injector gave up the ghost.

From what I've read, many people have come to the consensus that all six have to be replaced with the new injectors ($1500+ ) but I've also seen those who have replaced 1 'bank' of three and had no problems. Several sources indicate this is a viable solution as well, including Tischer. Anyone know the real answer? I don't want to replace three perfectly good injectors that could last for thousands of miles if I don't have to.

Many people have just swapped out one injector and others felt better by doing one bank. So its your call...

Ideally I'd like to just swap the bad one, but I've read all over that the new injectors can't be mixed with old ones, so..

I replaced all 6 because I'm OCD, but 1 at a time is fine, a bank is preferable and all is ideal. Really its up to you.

One injector at a time as long as it is coded.

I've read that you don't HAVE to get them coded... apparently after some driving the computer will automatically make adjustments. The only downside of not coding them is that the engine may run a little rough while it is trying to sort out the injectors.

Is this true?

Pretty sure if you install any number of injectors WITHOUT coding them the engine will run but not well, I wouldn't drive it like that.

While we're on the subject though.
Does anyone know a good way to check the 'health' of all 6 of your injectors?

My car is @ 113k miles and I have no idea if the injectors have EVER been serviced/replaced.
